What To Get A Special Guy On Valentines Day This Year
February 4th, 2010
It’s harder to get the same reaction from Valentine’s Day presents as you might have in the past as a young child. Whereas candy was once the ultimate gift, you will have to get extra creative in order to impress the man in your life. Go beyond the average gift and find something he will truly love.
A personalized gift will always be more well received than one that isn’t. Having a brand new Lexus car might be astounding, but it wouldn’t be a gift that came from the heart. Instead think about finding a gift, such as your average candy, and personalizing it. Candy manufacturers today allow for tiny candies to be imprinted with names or symbols.
Most men have that special suit that they have for special occasions. It’s hard to feel bad in a suit, especially when you have cuff links that are personalized. Cuff links are inexpensive for basic designs, and can be crafted with fine metals and gems in order to up the ante. It’s a perfect finishing touch to an expensive suit he looks great in.
All men love electronics and gadgets. This shouldn’t come as a surprise if you know your man well enough. Small electronics such as watches are inexpensive as well. Make the gift more fun by spending more money; Apple iPod products are incredibly popular right now, as are rival products from Microsoft and even Google. High-tech toys can cost as much as $500 or more for the latest gear.
A food gift basket isn’t the normal gift given at Valentine’s Day- but you can make it fun by doing so. Maybe include a gift basket of hot sauces, spices, and BBQ rub and cutely reference the “hot” romance in the card. Other foods that men enjoy would include meat and cheese packages and of course the more common candy gift baskets. Just remember to make the card say something special!
If your guy truly appreciates you, he won’t be caught up in them materialism that Valentine’s Day has become. You don’t have to purchase him anything at all, and you can still have a great time. Focus the evening around a night of just you and him. You can plan a walk in the park at midnight and enjoy the smooth silence and relaxation a night walk entails. Invite other couples to go do something that could involve watching movies or playing group games.
In Conclusion
Whatever you decide to buy, or not buy, your guy you shouldn’t worry on how it is received. It’s the thought that counts, and when concerning candy, it’s hard to go wrong when sweet are involved. If you are still at a loss, be subtle and ask what your guy might want. Just be indirect so he doesn’t suspect anything.
